General Director of AIE since 2000, he is a member of the Boards of the main international organisations of performers collecting societies and combines these activities with participation in groups of experts in Telecommunications, as well as in the analysis and support of different enterprise tech start-ups.
Born in Madrid, he holds a Telecommunications Engineer degree from the Polytechnic University of Madrid, an MBA from the Instituto de Empresa (IE) and a Master in Management of Governing Bodies from IESE. He has developed his professional career in the area of new technologies, working for different telecommunications and IT consultancies.
Since 1994, the year in which he joined AIE (Musical Artists Management Society of Spain), he has been fully dedicated to the application of these advances to the management of performers’ intellectual property rights, designing and participating in the development of leading data platforms IPD and VRDB.
AIE is one of the most advanced international societies in performers’ rights management, with more than 30,000 members, 100 reciprocal exchange agreements, and a strong investment in technology with projects in blockchain, data lake and matching learning. AIE developed the Streamrights project, which offers a 360 view of the international rights of artists.
He has been president of IPDA (International Performers’ Database Association), an entity that developed IPD, the world database of artists; and since 2012 to the present, he is a member of the Board of SCAPR (International Council of Performing Artists Rights Societies) and member of the Database Committee of the aforementioned organisation. In 2019 he was elected as a member of the Administrative Council of AEPO-ARTIS (European coordination organisation of artists’ entities), and he is also President of the Technical Committee of FILAIE (Ibero-Latin American Federation of Performing Artists), which includes the performers entities of Latin America, Portugal, and Spain.
